Bathurst, NSW

The preparation of a Master Plan for Freeman Park followed by detail documentation for the landscape development of this park in a new suburb of Bathurst created a quality public landscaped recreation space for the surrounding young families.

Following community consultation, the design incorporated elements including walking paths, playground, barbeque area, seating, dry creek line and irrigated grass play space. The layout for the park provided needed pedestrian movement paths connecting surrounding streets and access to park facilities.

The dsb Team utilised its extensive design and master planning skills creating a vibrant landscape setting for the neighbourhood providing for passive and active recreation activities.

Close liaison with Council officers during the design phase ensured that the developed park landscape meets Council requirement and minimises ongoing maintenance needs.

The completed park will ensure that the surrounding residential area has an attractive recreation area and a valuable green space for the future.
