Scoresby, VIC

Scoresby Recreation Reserve is located in Knox City Council and adjoins the Scoresby Village Shopping Centre. The aim was to create a space to integrate the Reserve and the Shopping Centre; serving as a centrally located nodal point within the precinct.

The Recreation Reserve contains tennis courts, an AFL oval, pavilion buildings, toilets, cricket nets, picnic shelters, playgrounds and car parking. Previous master planning identified the need to establish a centrally located gathering space for the local community and to provide additional passive recreation options.

dsb Landscape Architects engagement included detailed design development and final tender documentation for this recreation facility / gathering space.

The final design outcome broadened opportunities for passive recreation whilst maintaining organised sports emphasis. The space is flexible, dynamic and multifunctional providing also for carols fetes and other local social events. All ability access design ensured that access is visible safe and with connections to paths and entry and egress points.
