The Peninsula Apartments is a new apartment complex adjacent to the lake at Kingston Foreshore. Due to the small size of the block, a great emphasis was placed on the two roof top terrace spaces which would serve as the main communal areas for residents.

The main roof top courtyard has panoramic views of the adjacent lake and Mount Ainslie. The design used this view as the feature providing raised steel planters at the edge to frame this view and an infinity edge water feature along the full width of the courtyard edge to reflect the sky and mimic the lake.

Both courtyards were designed to sit above the podium, avoiding any penetrations into the slab. The raised steel planters were placed on drainage cell and the pavements were laid on a pedestal system. This allowed for all services and drainage to occur below the finished surfaces level making future maintenance possible without demolition.

The Peninsula Apartments won several industry awards including the 2017 MBA Best Apartment Complex award.
